The Hwie Tiauw Ka (HTK) Association of Surabaya held the Qing Ming  ceremony on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the HTK Building, Jl. Slompretan No. 58 Surabaya. The ritual was led by Hasan , with the Dragon Deity mantra recited by Oei Tik Bing  and the Ancestors’ mantra by Limantoro Layarta. 

HTK Chairwoman Elisa Christiana emphasized the significance of Qing Ming as a moment to honor ancestors and to promote Hakka cuisine  as part of cultural heritage. After the prayers, members and guests shared traditional Hakka dishes such as braised pork, radish soup, tofu with shrimp, noodles, and more, prepared and donated by HTK members.

The solemn yet warm gathering was attended by HTK board members including Alie Handoyo, FS Jayapranata, Benny Saiful, Hady S. Winarlim, Oei Tik Bing, Limantoro Layarta, Ani Tjendrawati, and others. At its 205th year, HTK continues to uphold harmony, solidarity, and contribution to both its members and the wider community.
